8. Do you genuinely want your muse to be happy? What do you think would make them most happy in life?

I WAS ABOUT TO SAY I WOULD DIE TO MAKE SHIRLEY FENNES HAPPY BUT SHE’S HAD ENOUGH PEOPLE DIE FOR HER REALLY AND IS TELLING ME *NO* SO…

In all seriousness though I just want her to smile. She’s been through so much and I’m so proud of her - my wonderful daughter who carried on despite it all. There’s a reason I have that gif as my current layout (i need to update and yet look at her)… whenever I’m feeling down I like to watch the credits sequence before the character quests because it really sums up what Legendia means to me and Shirl’s arc and now you all know I can cry on response to “My Tales” so have fun w that if u ever meet me irl.

I think what would make her most happy is knowing Stella and Fenimore are proud of her! But, of course there’s no real way for her *to* know so the next best thing is for her to act in ways she can be proud of herself. Which she very much tries to do. : )

9. Do you enjoy putting your muse through angst? What do you think would break their heart the most?

ahahahahahaha….. AHHA…. yes. I probably sound like a hypocrite after everything said above but, well, the reason Legendia’s ending (both of them actually) is so cathartic for me is because of all the pain Shirl and everyone has to go through to get there. The light at the end of the tunnel is a very important message for me.

Also, just because I have synced with her so well I think it’s natural to explore some darker themes in my rps as Shirl. She has a lot to work through after all.

As for what would break her the most? Probably another war starting out again despite her efforts to the contrary. I think she could rebuild again with her friends and family on the Legacy but if they weren’t there then… well, I think the loss of a support network (especially when youve experienced that loss before) is quite a natural fear. And a nightmare if it came true.

What is their favorite fruit?

Shirley loves apples! The first time she ever had one was in an apple pie Senel made. She likes them plain as well. It’s probably because they’re so versatile that they’re her favorite. Anything apple is good!

Do they eat healthy?

She has a healthy diet but she doesn’t eat much at all, so she could use more nutrition. It’s a habit she’d had from childhood since the village had such little to eat. As the Merines, she had special privileges but it never felt right eating without others beside her and when she failed the rite well... everyone stopped caring.

So many! Ever since I restarted this blog in January I’ve met so many great rpers. I truly appreciate every one of the interactions I’ve had. But I’ll give a few shout outs here off the top of my head~

Well, I have to start with @fortesinfide who has been with me through so many blogs and url changes. I have an archive of our first rp saved here that I’m still really proud of and hope we can continue some day. I just really love Kae and Tessa, guys.

Also, ever since coming back to rping this year I’ve managed to do a lot of stuff with @talesmusings in our shared Tempest/Legendia verse (under the tag v: diplomacy). I’m still continuously surprised by how serendipitous that verse is and how much fun we have with it.

“Walter?”

She hasn’t heard that name in a long time. It hurts, she thinks - but not the fresh hurt that is Fenimore’s death. No, this is regret, plain and simple.

And such an odd question too. It makes her hesitate all the more in her answer.

“No, I didn’t. I certainly cared for him, but I think… even that came too late.”

She had heard the story from Senel, his eyes dark. He fought us till the end, he’d said. Shirley knew they both felt the pain of not having been able to save him.

(But how could you save someone who never wanted salvation)

“Walter recognized me from the start, but I couldn’t even place his face. I was always with Senel and Stella in the village. I never had a need for anyone else.”

No one else had needed or wanted her. Or that’s what she had thought, but Walter–

He must have been so lonely.

“Truthfully, I don’t think he loved me romantically. I was someone he had built his life around, an idol. But, but he still…”

He protected me. And trusted me, Shirley, not the Merines.

“No, nevermind. It is wrong to talk of the dead in that way. I will never know how Walter truly felt and I know that is at least partially my fault. I could have tried to reach out to him, talked to him, offered him friendship but I was afraid.”

“So I’ll carry that weight. The weight of the things we never said to each other.”

“No,” the girl sighed, patting Chloe’s shaking form. There was a look of desperation in the knight’s eyes as she clung to the smaller girl.

Shirley really should have known better. Swimming lessons were quite hard with such a student as this.

2. Cheek kiss

“Is this alright?”

The two of them lay down in the grass, hands clasped together. Shirley put her other hand over her face as she gazed up into the sky. The sun was so bright. She turned to ask Senel a question and his smile was brighter still.

(She always wanted him to smile like that. Even if it wasn’t for her.)

They both sat up at the same time. Senel’s forehead collided with her own and she laughed. He was still smiling at her, his own question reflected in his eyes. Shirley’s breath stopped.

His face was so close. She took in a deep breath and imagined he could feel the ticklish warmth of it on his cheek. Heart beating fast, she replaced that breath of air with the feel of her own lips.

It was just for a moment. Senel had turned so slightly at her touch that her kiss had landed on the side of his mouth. She pulled away, face flushed.

How to move forward. In her youth, it was how to move forward from her past. Unfortunately, she would often dwell on her mistakes and become emotionally paralyzed by them. Post-game it is more about how her people can move forward in harmony with the Orerines. She has her friends for support in this and in general has a much more optimistic outlook.

Depends on what kind of surprise! If it’s a sudden shock like one of her friends jumping out at her she’ll give a yelp just like any girl her age. If it is more of an emotional upset she’ll do the exact opposite and become deathly silent as she tends to internalize things.

（ つ Д ｀） : When your muse is sad, what do they do?

His voice is deep and resonant. She feels comforted almost instantly, as if it was a hymn of her own people and not a foreign land. The words seem secondary to the emotion she can hear. She wants to reach out and put meaning to the noise or open her own mouth in response.

Instead, she closes her eyes and listens. Interpretation can come later.
